long time no write

no internet and a brief stay at the hospital for appendicitis has caused me to neglect the ol' blog here. sorry to anyone that actually reads it!! anyway, i hope everyone is having a splendid 2009 and i promise to post more in the future!

old family photos

My sister and I went through some family photos on Thanksgiving. I just love thinking about the lives my parents lived before I existed. Old photos seem to have a certain magic to them, too. I think I'll switch back to my film camera.

52 projects

52 projects is a super great book you all should read! It's all about finding inspiration in everyday life, which i think is important to us all. 52 projects also has a blog that i've listed to the right. It's inspired me to write this blog about things i like....read 52 projects...it's good. Also, if you happen to be working for the man (like I used to)...read "Working for the Man." It's pretty darn hilarious.

Lazy Days

Lately the craziness of the semester has been making me wish for those lazy summer days. This photo was taken last summer after a long day of wine tasting in Sonoma. We slept on the grass at the Chateau St. Jean winery for probably 3 hours. I remember the smell of the breeze and the feeling of the warm setting sun. It was perfect!

nothing brightens my day better than a little dose of stephen colbert. i had heard that he spoke at the white house correspondents dinner a few years ago, but i had never seen the video...until today. unfortunately i can't figure out how to upload the video from youtube (i just figured out how to search for a video a few weeks ago...newfangled contraptions) so instead, you can find it here. enjoy!
